Black Halo Frequently Asked Questions, and Solutions:

Q: I am getting a 'NOT AUTHORIZED' error. I have already paid and should have credits in my account. What should I do ?
A: Run BlackHalo and click ABOUT. Check and see if your HW key is the same as the one you contacted me with originally. Odds are this number has changed, and I will need you to contact me with the new number. Also, please note the HW key changing rule underneath the FAQ section.

Q: I unlock one phone fine, when I go to unlock another, BlackHalo shuts off. Whats going on?
A: This is an internet issue in which is blocking multiple requests from the program. The simple solution is to close BlackHalo and re-open every time you unlock a phone.

Q: My BlackHalo is not authenticating the phone. It also does not display the amount of unlocks I have.
A: The program is being blocked somehow. Click ABOUT and check the HW Key. Make sure it is the same HW Key that we have here on file. You can contact moose@donmoose.com if your HW Key has changed. Also, make sure that there is NO Firewall, Antivirus, or ISP setup that is blocking your internet access. This is a MAJOR reason why BlackHalo may not be able to function correctly. When you run your program, it should look like this.

Q: Program says unable to enter RSS--SIM. What can I do?
A: Check your baud setting. Try switching it to either 19200 or AUTO. Also, make sure that no Motorola iDEN applications are running. This is because they don't tend to share the USB drivers correctly. So if you are using RSS SuperAgent to trip the phone into RSS--SIM (Download Superagent from here , click File > Read Phone), make sure you close SuperAgent before opening BlackHalo! Also, make sure you have the correct USB drivers. USB Drivers get installed with SuperAgent, but you can also download a working USB driver here.

Q: Variable IMEI not found.
A: Check the first question in this FAQ/Troubleshooter. Do you have this problem also? Possibly not seeing the unlocks, etc? If so, troubleshoot as explained in that question. If you do see your unlocks, etc, and are still having this problem, reinstall USB drivers, and set the phone's BAUD rate to 19200 or auto. Try with both bauds. With one, Blackhalo should pick it up and unlock. If problem continues, check your firewall settings.

A: The software comes with a ReadMe document. Read through that document before contacting me. If you cannot seem to solve your issue, email me at moose@donmoose.com

If you purchase 1 key, and are issued any other keys, these are considered grace keys. This is in case you happen to disconnect in the middle of an unlock, etc. However, if you use these grace keys for other units besides the ones you paid for, you will be banned from BlackHalo usage.

New Hardware Fingerprint rule in effect:
Hardware fingerprints will only be updated once a month (in case your hardware fingerprint changes for any reason) I apologize for any inconvenience, this is being done to prevent the misuse or attempted reselling of non-resellers. If your hardware fingerprint needs to be updated (more than 30 days from time of purchase) there is a $20 fee. This is an update fee ONLY and does not add any unlock credits to your account.
